What a great way to organize your cans in your pantry! Using a soda box cut a slit into the back to place cans into, and use the already proliferated slit in front for getting them out! This is great too,because it is labeled “soup”. You can label it anyway you like, and the best part is it’s free! (if you already had the soda box)

When I started to organize my CD/DVD’s I became frustrated. I did not want to put them on a shelf or store them in a CD/DVD stand. I didn’t like the look of having them out, and my daughter spent every other hour pulling them off the shelf.

Now that it’s February, the two-month holiday season and all its party-throwing and appetizer-preparing frenzy is finally behind you.

It is time to restock and reorganize your spice cabinet, which is likely to be near depleted even of its typically uncapped inhabitants after preparing obscure dishes per request of the hostess(es) all season long.

Side-note: Since when did cheese plates become a foodie faux pas?

Alas! A spice rack checklist (literally), courtesy of marthastewart.com, that you can tout with you to your local super market to ensure that no matter what the app-of-the-month is, your spice rack is on trend.

I amended the list to include the following staples: garlic powder, minced garlic, onion powder, dried basil and thyme, pickapeppa and worcestershire sauce.

Snip your usual habit of darting to the store mere hours before your dish is expected. Stay stocked and organized with the above list.

Even if you’re a novice cook working with a kitchenette, the above spice list will transform your dishes from basic to gourmet, no stainless steel gadgets required.
